I -- on the other hand -- do not seem to sleep very many ways at all.
Last night was yet another staring contest with the ceiling and it ended in a draw.
Things that won't help you sleep but seem like a good idea at the time:
- Getting out of bed
- Fumbling around in the dark for ipod
- Trying to restore flakey internet service connection or hunt for new wireless hotspots in various locations throughout your apartment
- Checking work email
- Looking around on Flickr or YouTube
- Standing in front of the heater
- Moving your pillow and blanket to the couch in front of the TV [Important note: This almost works if you can find something very boring. Related warning: Do Not Think About Mindless TV. For instance, Do Not Ponder Why Every Episode of COPS seems to have been shot in New Orleans in like 1993]
[this is good] I had the most dreadful night of sleep. I watched every late-night talk show,which usually puts me to sleep,but after about 4 hours I shut off the damn TV. Sleep still eluded me.
But that was one of my favorite segments from Seseme Street. I'm still looking for the "when I itch, I scratch" SS segment fromthe 70s.
