The song itself is amazing and if someone ever had to pick a favorite song by their favorite band -- this one's perfect.

Experimental Search Engine

Can I just say that I'm really proud of the test UI and feature set that Ask.com quietly launched this week?

Well, I am. 

It's great to work with a small team of innovative folks who - despite the million other things going on - were able to pull this off in a pretty short time. I led the product development on a new search area as well all of the Smart Answers and contextually triggered features. There's a lot of goodies in there.  See?

Do a search for a band or tv show or movie or a celebrity or a place or some search for videos or a sports team or something to see it in full effect. Try a bunch of searches. It's fun. You'll see.

I  -- on the other hand -- do not seem to sleep very many ways at all.
Last night was yet another staring contest with the ceiling and it ended in a draw.

Things that won't help you sleep but seem like a good idea at the time:

• Getting out of bed
• Fumbling around in the dark for ipod
  
• Trying to restore flakey internet service connection or hunt for new wireless hotspots in various locations throughout your apartment
• Checking work email
• Looking around on Flickr or YouTube
• Standing in front of the heater
• Moving your pillow and blanket to the couch in front of the TV  [Important note: This almost works if you can find something very boring. Related warning: Do Not Think About Mindless TV. For instance, Do Not Ponder Why Every Episode of COPS seems to have been shot in New Orleans in like 1993]
